Batucada do Leste proudly announces its 2008 Enredo "Futuro na Mão!"
This year's hybrid enredo brings together American, Brazillian and African musics in a fully funked out Rio samba complemented with an innovative Afro Bloco!!!
Our enredo theme "Futuro na Mão" directly reflects the Carnaval SF 2008 theme "Many Cultures One Spirit." Each day we have a divinely given oppurtunity to embrace each other and write a history of happiness and harmony; our lyrics capture the spirit of this oppurtunity in a simple and yet profoundly hopeful way. "Futuro na Mão" (literally: 'future in hand') siezes this hope and spreads it like a giving hand to the fertile soil of the SF Carnaval and the greater Bay Area community. Our international blend of musics demonstrates just one of myriad synergies when bringing together Many Cultures One Spirit!
